After another hugely successful year, the Kelpies Supernova 5K is back for 2017, bigger and better than ever before! Due to popular demand, there will be an additional third event added to the 2017 format, which will now include 5Ks on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th November.
Last year’s event saw thousands of runners light up the night at Helix Park in Falkirk, completing the 5K route in their best fluorescent kit and each with a Supernova head torch. As dusk fell, the magnificent 30 metre, 300 ton Kelpies came to life and provided a stunning backdrop for a 5K with a difference!
A fantastic atmosphere was generated by all runners and the fancy dress efforts were something to be admired. Tutus, glow sticks, leg warmers, LED glasses, and plenty of fluorescent gear was on show, and runners ranged from tiny toddlers to glowing grandparents, all adding to the event’s feel-good factor.
Early bird entries for the Kelpies event in 2017 are open now and will be available at a discounted rate until midnight on Sunday 12th February 2017. To enter and find out more, head to https://www.supernovarun.com/events/the-kelpies/.

The series then heads to Bournemouth, taking place as part of the Bournemouth Marathon Festival, which takes place on 7th & 8th October 2017, more information is available at https://www.bournemouthmarathon.com/5k/.
